Programs and Artwork

In this Gallery I share some of the Programs I created over the decades. Much of the artwork was created “on demand” by Joanie, my wife and trusted co-worker. Whenever I had an idea, she comes up with a fitting piece of visual art.

This was the program I scribbled on the Gestettner for my first solo recital
The same program as above for the performance on the Silbermann organ in Arlesheim, Switzerland
Joan designed this for my program “Roaming Minds’ Music with Links to Mountains and Memories” This Program was recorded form my first CD “CHAINS”
Title page with view of the Alpstein Mountains from Gais AR, Switzerland
A view down Valle Calneggia, a hanging valley above Foroglio TI, Switzerland
I had an idea of a peaceful mountain lake with waterlilies, so Joan drew this picture for me
With my Gregorian chant group we sang Vespers for 7 years. As of the second season we named ourselves “Studio Cantilena” and sang the Vespers in St. Saviours Pro-Cathedral in Nelson, where I was music director. The church on the picture, Joan sketched in Pontresina GR, Switzerland.
In the fall of 2019 I began building this clavichord from a Kit by Charles Wolff. It is a copy of a Hubert double fretted clavichord. I asked Joan to paint the sound board for me. Luck had it that she went to see her cousin in Lowestoft GB.

A short walk from her cousin’s house lives Ruth Wharriar (www.ruthwharriar.com), a painter who specializes in painting sound boards and Joan was able to get valuable instructions from her. Then she practised the technique for several months until the soundboard was installed and ready to be painted .

I asked for Bluebells dancing around the bridge.
